Nutmeg

Update on Nutmeg!

Hello special volunteers,

As Fall is upon us, we thought we would give you an update on "Meg's Summer Vacation". She is such a great traveler that we take her with us almost everywhere by car or by boat.

This summer we purchased a new boat that was located in Maryland. The three of us drove to Maryland, and then spent a week's vacation on the new boat bringing it back to CT. As you can see from the pictures, Nutmeg adapted quite quickly to her new surroundings. When she was not helping captain the boat, she found lots of places to nap, including on the compass in the pilothouse.

She has been to Block Island, Long Island, Newport and the Cape this season and continues to be the highlight of the marinas and our home.

Unfortunately, we had to say good-bye to our 16 year old dog Bailey in November. She and Nutmeg were best pals for the ten months they were together. We all miss Bailey terribly and think of her often.

We hope you all had a wonderful summer, and we will stay in touch.

Update on Nutmeg

Hello friends in North Kingstown,

As you may recall, we adopted Nutmeg in January of this year. She is doing great, and we are so lucky to have found her. Our 15+ year old dog Bailey is still with us, and we think the friendship she and Nutmeg have made has really helped her stay happy.

We have a boat and spend many weekends traveling the area, and Nutmeg has spent her first season with us traveling to Clinton, Fisher's Island and the pictures attached from Block Island in July.

Thank you again, and we hope you have been enjoying your summer.

Hello special volunteers,

We wanted to send some pictures of Nutmeg's first weekend with us. We named the pictures "birthday kitty" because we picked her up on Saturday, and my birthday was Sunday.

She is such a joy and is doing great!!! The picture of her and our dog (Bailey) was day two, but they are nose to nose now and very compatible. A sweet, 15 year old dog and a very calm, patient cat seems to be the perfect combination.

Thank you for all you did to keep Nutmeg happy, healthy and available for us to adopt as we are so grateful - she is wonderful.
